From
the first time Harold Markle pulled a car out of a ditch 40 years ago, it was
clear he was meant to be a part of the Towing Industry embracing the challenges
and opportunities that it presented. With
nineteen years operating a successful towing business, coupled with developing
training courses for the industry, Harold acquired the background and understanding
necessary for Canadian Towing Equipment (CTE) to provide quality products and
service. He also gained valuable insight working with Vulcan Towing Equipment
for five years on the development of heavy duty products. In addition to this,
he trained the Canadian military on the operation of the Vulcan military recovery
trucks. These experiences resulted in an in depth understanding of heavy tow truck
requirements.
As
Vice President of Miller Industries Distribution, Harold gained a global perspective
of successful towing and recovery sales and service outlets. Now President and
the driving force behind Canadian Towing Equipment, his passion is reflected in
his dedication to the growth of the towing industry.

The modern installation facility in Ayr is set up for the final stage manufacturing
of towing equipment as well as servicing of all makes of tow trucks and car carriers.
The North York facility is located in the heart of Ontario and carries a complete
line of parts and accessories plus a service facility exclusively for towing equipment.

approach is second to none in the industry with years of experience selling work
ready towing and recovery equipment as well as helping to provide customers with

Installations, customizing and repairs
are done by our Certified Master Installers who have extensive and ongoing training.
They ensure that the manufacturer’s installation procedures are followed
and that each truck meets the requirements of the National Safety Mark, as awarded
by the Federal Department of Transport. In September 2004 CTE received the Outstanding
Distributor Award by Miller Industries for performance and sales achievements.
